I almost didn't buy my first iPad because the demo model at Best Buy was
so smeared with greasy fingerprints. But the salesperson showed me how
easily the screen could be cleaned so I felt better.
On that demo model, the fingerprints were so thick they affected how the
screen looked when it was on. On the 2 iPads I've owned plus my iPhone5
when I can see some fingerprints if the screens are turned off, they
don't interfere with visibility since I don't let them stay there very long.
I see no reason that would change if I had a computer monitor that was
for my personal use -- public touch screen devices are often a mess, though.
