Sent from my iPad miniKris, you had it right before. "The searching for signal" is an input problem related to the HDMI. It might be a bad cable, wrong setting on the TV, or the ATV itself. I'm betting a better quality HDMI cable will fix the problem. Lynn can also try just disconnecting and reconnecting the HDMI cable connected to her TV or swapping it with the one used by the Bluray player.

player but I cannot even get the ATV to stay connected to
restore it to original settings or to check for updates,
let alone watch a movie on Netflix. And I want to be able
to use AirPlay and watch things that are on my computer on
the TV.........
