The email-settings is totally different. The iPad use IMAP and not POP3.
It is better to use the iCloud-email what you get with your Apple-account.
You log in with your Apple-account in the email-settings(email, contacts, cal) in the part " iCloud" .
Below the email from your Apple-account you see email, contact, cal, memory, safari, etc. You can put on Photostream. Standard it is off.
After Account ……(your Apple account in iTunes) you see > click on that. You get an email-address from Apple with @icloud.com
What for the @ stand is maybe the same from your iTunes-account. When Apple said the name before @ is already in use you can change it what you want.
iCloud is easy because on every device from Apple you can receive your email.
Emails from your provider is more difficult. You must get the information from your provider to get right settings for IMAP.
