We went back to NJ last September to visit friends for a week. They took us to Gettysburg, Arlington National Cemetery and DC. When we got back to our friends house, we watched a Mets game and the World Trade Center ceremony on their TV.

Turned on, muted, with the nes-alert banner running along the bottom, when waiting for Sandy to hit, or other high-risk weather.
Single TV -- 46" flat screen in living room. No possibility of cable or FiOS; rotten over-the-air reception; on DISH Network.
