With slow internet they may not finish downloading. Did that much for me on a slow connection shared by many people

Can anyone help. Why is it that i get me email redownloading. Just went on vacation. Every nightnt i downloaded my emails. Then the next day....those same emails i deleated downloaded again. Is
There something in settings i chould change to stop those emails form downloading again.
