I assume you mean a switch from say Comcast to Verizon.
Well if I am with Comcast my username/password is "under the covers" validating me, or the Roku app is looking up my device and PIN combo to see if I have an active license.
I have not been in that scenario but I would imagine your device+PIN combo would expire and you would have to deal with a new activation by removing the channel and add it again to get a fresh PIN. Since it might just treat it as a "connectivity problem" and tell you try the app/channel later, rather than a deleted account.

Roku does it much easier in the first place.!) Apple TV approachenter username and password via TV keyboard or remote app.Detour A) if problems (you have wrong password, etc.) leave Apple TV and interact with browser and after sorting it out go back to Apple TV and type in username and password. If your password is strong this con be a pain in Apple TV or remote compared to device you are familiar with.Detour B) if you need to sign up leave Apple TV and interact with browser and after sorting it out go back to Apple TV and type in username and password. If you encounter no detours you still have to type a username/email address on a new device and new keyboard UI in Apple TV instead of your usual device.Roku Approach for most channelsYou basically start an app/channel and the app/channel shows you a giant PIN (Large print easy to see) and tells you what URL activates your app. Then you go to browser with phone/laptop/ipad and register the app. And once you type in that PIN the app/channel notices it a second or 2 later.Example Apple TV:So if I start the HBOGO channel on Apple I must enter my username and password on a lousy Apple TV keyboard and/or use my phone or iPad as a remote to enter it but I still have a clunky on screen UI for punctuation if my password is strong. If I have problems I go to the web and email for a few minutes and sort it out (and know/google URL of app company), and after done I still have to use Apple TV to enter username and password. With Roku I start the HBOGO channel it shows me a big PIN for example
FY67P4
and tells me to go to HboGo.com/activate
I then use my laptop, ipad or Computer browser and go to http://www.hbogo,com/activate
and give it my credentials (if I already pay for it via my provider like Verizon or Comcast) or sign up using the browser. Last step I type my PIn and the app on Roku notices it and starts recognizing me and running.Since registering may involve a form with details and entering strong passwords, a Web Browser and a device you use regularly is a very comfortable way to do so. You in 90% of cases do not have to type username and password into ROKU use Web and your device instead, just the PIN or Roku screen into web browser as last step and app/channel notices and starts. On Wed, Aug 3, 2016 at 6:31 PM, Kris Murray krismurray@gmail.com [iPad] <iPad@yahoogroups.com> wrote:Doesn't the iPad or iPhone remote app offer better input of letters?~KLM\\ "The one who follows the crowd will usually get no further than the crowd.
