The crack I had on my iPad 3 did not grow in the 4 years of daily use so I hope you have similar luck.

The crack starts at a tiny nick at the very edge; it does not seem to have grown
and operation seems not to have been impaired. Of course, any crack can
suddenly grow,so there is the apprehension.
