Thanks Pete. I had wondered if there was an Apple provided guide, seems not, so I will look into this or another, or both when Yosemite is out.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. I am looking for a "Mac User Guide for OSX Mavericks"   or basically an OSX User Guide
 
I am at work. The Apple website doesnt seem to have OSX Manuals

We can download User Guides in iBooks for our iPhones and iPads, but I cannot find the OSX equivalent..

Open iBooks in MacOS X
Search in the book store for "iOS 8"
The first 2 responses I get are:
"iPhone User Guide for iOS 8" 
and 
"iPad User Guide for iOS 8".
