Then it asked me if I wanted to set up my cellular service and gave me three choices - none of which was Verizon, my carrier!! A search on apple.com told me to contact Verizon. Verizon said they don't have the card yet!!! Would have been nice to have known that before I ordered!!!
Has anyone here tried the idea of buying a Wifi-only iPad with the intention of pairing it with their iPhone/Hotspot if they want to utilize cellular connectivity?
I find I don't use much of my iPad's cellular limit for downloading stuff *for* the iPad; when I check how much data allowance is left 2-3 weeks into the month, and find MOST of it, I may use the iPad as a Hotspot to download a large file for the Mac.
I'm considering, when upgrade time comes, getting a Wifi model and using the money I'm not spending for its data plan to pay for a larger data plan for the iPhone instead.
Of course, cellular capability also comes with GPS capability, so I would lose that with the upgrade this way — unless even the Wifi-only models have GPS now…
