I think it's fair to say that all of these operating systems will freely borrow and improve upon features from their competition — at least until the patent lawyers enter the fray. Ditto for hardware design — I was in Staples a day ago and looked at the tablets they were offering. Amazing how all of them were iPad knockoffs. Not carbon copies, mind you, but certainly based on Apple's implementation. Which, in itself, isn't bad. All of these various tablets should eventually coalesce to a common design and feature set like today's automobiles have. Maybe even to the point of all of them using the same "gas" (apps).

Although i have a few iOS devices, there are a lot of features I'd like to see added both in terms of hardware and software. A mini-usb connector and the ability to add both hardware and memory would be quite useful. So would a real file system rather than the current joke that ties files to their application — and deletes them when you delete the app used to create them. So, I guess that means that I'd like to see Apple copy a little more from either Android or Windows — or even from OS X for that matter.
