I don't think so. What's there to kid about? Lots of people can't
twist as would be necessary to place the iPad on the seat beside them in
order to type, and holding the iPad with one hand up in front of her
would make it impossible to type with two hands.
I don't see that she would be kidding -- I use my iPad in exactly the
way she has asked about, several different times each week, while
waiting in my car for various things.
