If I'm in a collision, that would mean I was driving while using my iPad. Why do you assume I am so stupid? Obviously, I would remove the iPad and holder while I am driving.

I can understand why manufacturers would be reluctant to create such a product, but it would be great while I am waiting in my car. Putting it anyplace else would cause me to twist to use it or be forced to type with one hand.
Whereas *leaving* your iPad in that position could kill you in a collision…
Which is why a 3rd party equipment maker would be unwilling to take on the liability.
