If I'm in a collision, that would mean I was driving while using my iPad.  Why do you assume I am so stupid? Obviously, I would remove the iPad and holder while I am driving.

Whereas *leaving* your iPad in that position could kill you in a collision…
Which is why a 3rd party equipment maker would be unwilling to take on the liability.
