Now I'm really curious. You seem to have within your budget the means to purchase whichever devices you like. It also appears, to me at least, that you have nothing but contempt and distain for Apple products and especially iTunes. You are entitled to your opinion - I would never begrudge anybody that. I am very confused however as to why you would purchase and continue to use a device that requires you to use an interface that you are so opposed to.
I agree that Apple imposes limitations on their products that seem to be unnecessary, but I have to wonder if those limitations are what has enabled me to use my three Apple devices almost interchangeably. In the six months since I switched to Apple products, I have had no difficulties with my devices communicating with each other as compared with the constant tweaking and adjusting I was doing with my PC and Blackberry.
There is never a "one size fits all" solution to anything. We all must choose what works best for us individually. To use a solution just because some expert who doesn't know me says it is best seems like it would cause unnecessary stress and frustration.
