I will admit that it has been a stretch for me to learn iTunes. It has made me feel a little dumb, because I thought it was supposed to be really easy. And maybe it is really easy once you learn how to do it - once you get all the settings configured and so forth. For me, one of the difficult things has been trying to figure out the music and playlists. I still don't have my iPhone set up to sync music correctly. I've got to go in and figure out what I'm missing there. I think that the interface is just so different from the software that I am used to, that I'm missing some things, somewhere.
I have pretty much got things settled with my iPad, as far as apps go, but it did involve going in and figuring out how to work all the different syncing options. And also, I had to do some research to figure out how to transfer all my stuff from my old laptop, so that I could sync with my new Mac Mini. That took some doing, but because I was still able to access my laptop, I was able to get it done. It would have been much more difficult if my laptop broke down. Also, it is very complicated to explain to people how to do things. I think that the UI is out of date, and it looks weirdly unattractive compared to what it could look like - compared to the devices that it controls.
All of that said, I LOVE my iPad, and now my iPhone and Mac Mini, too. I can't believe I've become an almost total Mac convert in the last year! I say almost, because of iTunes. But I have persevered so far!
I have been using computers since I was 6 years old - that's about 18 years now. I'm the go-to computer guru for everyone I know, lol. So yeah, iTunes makes me feel pretty dumb.
But I LOVE my Apple devices, so I put up with it!
