Re: [iPad] Rival music services say Apple's App Store pricing is anticompetitive | The Verge

Theoretically, ideally, you could throw away all your albums, because everything would always be there for you, available for streaming, at CD quality, whenever you wanted it, including an awful lot of stuff you didn't event know existed.  You could explore anything and everything that had ever been published.  But that's just in theory.

Ten bucks a month at 12 months is 120 that's about twelve albums if you were to buy them. Way more music than I personally buy per year.

Too much dough for me, especially considering the minuses.  I've cancelled.  Unlimited streaming, though.  What does "12 or 24 albums mean"?

Yuk. So $120 and $240 annually? That's 12 or 24 albums right? That's a lotta dough.

I can see the issue, Apple is using the 30% to pump up the price of Spotify, making it more expensive that Beats. It is anti competitive. Spotify can just keep the free service, or dveleope a web based access to the premium service.

The RIAA needs to go, allow the artists to formulate their own central managament system. So that they can earn money. They dont at the moment, they need the RIAA who controls radio stations to get air play, so they have to do tours to make a buck.

Agreed. And. Furthermore. How much. Err what percentage does the riaa charge artists? Is it only 30% or is it much much higher? The latter, of course.

I find it amazing that any company would be complaining about the fact that Apple charges them 30% to gain access to Apple's huge customer base.  Equally amazing is all the press this has received.
