Actually I find that Apple isn't going in many directions, or fast. Hardware gets a little lighter, thinner every year. Faster every year also, which is the norm in the computer industry. The OS's change gradually. The HW and SW look similar to what they were 4 years ago. Watch is not new, there are many many out there
I feel the noise generated by the Apple hype machine vastly out weighs the real time happenings. I'm ok with the happenings, but I'd prefer to see less "issues" threads on forums with Apple gear, and for me personally the ATV that runs iOS, is given access to the AppStore.

Hard to elaborate, Kris. I meant the new IBM, clumsy, out of touch, and organization heavy. A project that may sound good, if the media like it, but that is mostly imaginary and PR focused.
