Interesting. I wonder if taking the watch apart and altering the case will void the warranty?
I can't see aftermarket jewelers being much of a concern for Apple as far as competition goes. Anyone with the kind of money to spend $10k+ on a watch isn't likely to settle for anything less than the real deal. The aftermarket gold plating just encourages sales of the stainless version to a wider market. Everyone wins.
