[iPad] Re: Broken screen

Carol,
I had a similar problem with my iPhone 5s a few weeks ago - the screen shattered. It's of course up to you, but be aware that as far as I was told, if anyone but Apple (sent in or at an Apple Retail Store) repairs your screen, no matter how successfully, it voids the rest of the Apple warranty (original, and I would expect the Apple Care extended as well). Including my local BatteriesPlus, several places offered to replace the iPhone screen for $60-100 while I waited. You can find places to call to check repair offers by searching Google or an iOS app like WhitePages. I found 4 places plus BatteriesPlus under "cell phone screen repair". I chose to drive >100 miles each way to the "local" Apple Store because my warranty still had 6 months to go. The Apple Store charged $129 + tax (9%, ouch; here).
Good luck,
Dick

Check out a store called batteries plus if there is one in your area.  bateriesplus.com

I bought some watch batteries in one last week and noticed that they do repairs on mobile devices.
The watch batteries were in stock and less expensive than other local retail stores.

They claim they can do repairs while you wait.

My husband has an iPad 3rd generation that he just dropped. The screen is shattered. We are thinking of buying a new one (iPad Air 2). Is there anything we can do with the old one? It's fully functional except the screen is shattered. Does anyone buy them,to refurbish and resell?
Thanks,
Carol
