Re: [iPad] OT: Thanksgivukkah/Cyber/Black weekend

I walked by GameStop that was set to open at midnight on Friday morning. The first person in that line was waiting to buy a PS4.

I almost bought the Chromecast for $29 (instead of $35) just because I am a techie. I dumped it at the register though.

Re: [iPad] OT: Thanksgivukkah/Cyber/Black weekend

Those are some great items!

* I got the Beats Pill Portable Speaker System for my wife to use with her iPhone. Checking to see if I could hear it a section away at 2am on Friday morning was a fun test. Nobody at Kohl's even complained.
* Also bought a Wii U - Skylanders Swap Force game system bundle at Toys R Us and a number of games from Amazon sales. Still need to find a powered external hard drive for it.
* Picked up The Big Bang Theory: Season 6 DVD from Best Buy for $7.99. (Hid it behind some PC Will Maker software and came back to the store when the checkout lines had died down.)

I had been waiting/saving for a year in the hope of having enough money for the new Macbook Pro when it was released, and that all came together a month ago. Then my wife's iPad Air 2 weeks ago.

So: we both got Logitech keyboard folios for our iPads.
I got a spare Apple lightning charger cord for $9.50 or less.
For the computer, I got a USB-3 hub, and a Blu-Ray read-write drive.
Also a spare power adapter for the Mac.
And a new protective case for the iPhone 5S.

Many of these from OWC (www.macsales.com).

Re: [iPad] Re: built in apps

When you go to the App Store you can tap on purchased apps at the bottom of the page.  You can then tap on "Not on this iPad" at the top of the next page to find all of your missing apps.

Thanks, I tried it, but I got accidentally disconnected at the Apple end and they didn't call back. Eventually after doing a bunch of research on line I found the suggestion. Apparently I had to go to settings, lot out of Apple altogether on the iPad, then shut down until the apple appeared, then go to settings and put my Apple ID and password back in. Then go to the app store, and when I called up each "free" app individually, it finally said free and I downloaded.
Sigh, whenever I get a new device, it is a humongous learning curve. But I am really enjoying it.

I'd call AppleCare. 1800myipad or 1800myapple
I'm not sure iPhoto is included fork free. Try pages instead.

Hi, I saw a deal on the iPad Air at BestBuy.com today. I am still planning to upgrade from my iPad 2 next year, but these deals sure make it hard to wait. ;)

[iPad] RE: OT: Thanksgivukkah/Cyber/Black weekend

Got my iPad Air a couple weeks before Thanksgiving. It's my constant companion now. I look at the iPhon4 screen and wonder how the heck I used to squint to use the iOS. Will buy a Netgear N300 router this weekend and let my iMac rest from sharing the internet.

Works pretty well but I can't get Siri to pronounce Ivete. I use Ee Vet as
the phonetic spelling. I tried Evette but it doesn't work either. Wrong.
The only way she understands is eyeveet. I cannot teach her the correct way.
