I see. Sky in NZ is our version of what you call a network, its our only pay tv provider. I lost NatGeo, History etc, so I follow you now.

Yes, there are many apps one can use on the ATV 4 but for those, like me, whoop want to continue watching their network and cable channel shows, for the most part that can't happen. The channels I mentioned in my last post are the channels that I used to watch all the time. Now I can't. There is the Sling app but most of its shows are steamed live I work nights and can't watch live. I use to DVR all my shows.
\\ /\( ) Alice.( ). lwr32@mac.comNo. They have many usage apps for cord cutters. What Apple wants is to be a TV provider like Netflix, Hulu, etc. Now, it should not be that hard as their are may of these around the world. In lil ol NZ, we have Netflix NZ, Lightbox, Neon. Only 4..7 million here. But Apple wants too much money and rights.

So far Apple hasn't done a very good job of getting usable apps for us cord cutters.. So they have NBC, FX, Hallmark etc. Cord cutters can't use them. They want login with a provider. So, most media rights still belong to networks and cable/satelite providers.
\\ /\( ) Alice.( ). lwr32@mac.comhe was referring to Apple bullying the media rights holders for content, so Apple can run their own streaming service. Apple wants a big cut, so despite years of deal trying, it hasn't happened, and I can't see it happening. The devices, well they are all cheap, Apple included.. The best device is not tied to a provider. Its a seperate streaming device with all the apps that cover all the SVOD services.

Bullying or pricing? Isn't Apple the most expensive of the ones looked at?
