I have just bought a carrying bag with a shoulder strap that takes the iPad in its case. If I really can't get it cleaned up to my satisfaction, I may take my grumbles to Apple and see where that gets me.
One of my pet peeves with that case. I'm trying out the Marware CEO-Hybrid. It is thin and very suave looking, at $49.95, $10.00 more than the cloth case, but MUCH nicer looking and has 3 stand angles, PLUS a hand strap when you 'lock' the front flap back and you could use it for reading, charting or whatever.
