Get the iPad with 3G or get one of those MiFi which allows up to 5 wifi users to share a single 3G connection. I use the Huawei E5830 and my iPad & iPhone 4 can be connected to the internet anytime I want to. The Huawei E5830 works anywhere there is 3G phone signal.
