A. It's optional. 
B. You can bypass it even if it's on and your the passenger (or driver tsk tsk)
C. I think it's a good idea. As far as options goes.

Man I really hope that is an *optional* feature. Otherwise those of us who are on-call will probably not be allowed to buy iPhones any more.

I don't *read* or *answer* texts while driving but I sure do need to know that they've come in so I can pull over. 
(and I know some cars are starting to have the ability to interact with phones and read things aloud...?)
