I didn't mean they can't mod their own hardware, I meant they don't, as a matter of policy, at least not so far as I know. The result is pretty computers that are underpowered and out of date. A good example is VR. As I understand it, no Apple computer can do VR. It's as though they just don't care. Maybe they'll spin off personal computing. That could be a very good thing, if it leads to customizing.
