Since the issue is related to a software upgrade, I would try a free call to Apple Support at 800-275-2273.  Sorry I can't think of a better suggestion!

I have upgraded my iPad Air 2 to iOS 11.2.1. Ever since upgrading to iOS 11 I've been having an issue where the dock disappears at least once a day and the only way to get it back is by rebooting. I have tried the following to see if I can resolve the issue but no joy. 

1. Power off
2. Soft Reset
3. Backup and Restore 
4. Setup as new, then Restore. 

Is anyone else having this issue? Anything you can think is that I haven't tried other than wiping clean and starting from scratch?
