Do you mean rotate the iPad between portrait and landscape modes?
I mean rotate from portrait to landscape so that the number key is no longer in the far bottom left of the screen. Until I figured that out, I would have to write out the number because they key was not functioning.
If you do what I think of as clockwise, the physical corner of the iPad that displayed the number key becomes the upper left corner (which doesn't help us at all).
If you rotate the other way, the number-key corner becomes the lower right corner, where the "retract keyboard" key is.
Now: if the number key is not working, and you do that, does the "retract keyboard" key work?
This is a way of testing whether or not there is a dead spot in that corner of the screen.
Since you didn't mention them, I am presuming the adjacent keys – the shift key, the emoji key, and the "z" key all work properly. Correct?
