One thing I would consider is the size, if he will be carrying it back and forth to school. The Air does a lot and isn't as unwieldy in size as the Pro. However, if he wants someone almost computer size, the Pro would be a good choice.

The Air and the Baby Pro are exactly the same size and weight.
