Until it can run iOS, any Samsung will never be a competitor to the iPhone.
We constantly here this from Android lovers about how the next *put brand here* is going to be an iPhone killer. And they never are. Until I see 1 phone from 1 manufacturer with a higher market share worldwide, then they still haven't bested the iPhone.
Oh, and just for the record David, no one forces you to update every 12 months. YOU make that choice.

Agreed. But that was computers, and the buyer base was small, devoted, and happy to suck up. iDevices are different, in that the buyer base is huge. Also, the old Apple was innovative. The new Apple is not innovative. The old buyer base looked for new and cool and unique. The new buyer base are being told to content themselves with incremental improvements in the same devices many others are manufacturing. The newer buyers are certainly far less loyal, far more fickle than were the old. Apple under Cook are trying to position themselves as quality leader in an appliance market. That can't succeed indefinitely. Samsung, for example, have just come out with a very successful competitor to the iPhone. That's been the apple since forever. If you mean new like since jobs took over yes. If you mean new like since cook took over then you are incorrect. iPhones weRe going obsolete with software updates when jobs was still around.~KLM\\ "The one who follows the crowd will usually get no further than the crowd.
