My daughter, who has an iPhone, helped me, TNX for your reply.
I still don't exactly what I am doing, I chose to back up the iPad to the cloud anf to my computer but I don't know where on the computer that the backup ended up.

You didn't provide enough information for me to offer a suggestion besides calling Apple Support (800-275-2273) to have their tech walk you through the steps. Since your iPad Air is new, you are entitled to 90 days of free phone support.

I had that problem too. It happened about a month or two after the screen had cracked, but I don't know if the two were related. However, my friend fixed it by replacing the internal speaker using a kit from ifixit.
