Re: [iPad] Texting Program?

TextFree is a very easy to use app that will do what you want. I personally prefer Google Voice since it's the only app that lets me text using my real phone number.

Same with google voice.

I use an app called TextPlus. It's free texting and voice calls although I rarely use the voice call feature.

Re: [iPad] Seismic apps...

There are some good quake apps.  Just search for earthquake or, I suppose, seismic.

In the last 2 days, we have had many small earthquakes. These were centered in the Brea/La Habra areas of Orange County. I only felt 2 of these; Last night, a 5.1 magnitude at 9:09PM and another (a 3.2 magnitude) today. Are there any good apps to track earthquakes in a specific area?

These things have usually been in Sylmar and Northridge. The last 2 days 'quakes epicenter being La Habra/Brea is only 26 miles away from us. Many place in these areas and in Fullerton, CA are red tagged due to damage. I have a medical pack and so already, so I figured if there's a good app to track them, it would be a good thing.

Re: [iPad] iTunes Organ Music

If you want really good audio, try hdtracks.com and avoid bluetooth or even wifi.  Go direct to your pre-amp.

Dick. David, my husband, tells me that there is a recording of Pictures At An Exhibition done on Organ. You might want to look for that.

I think this came up quite a while ago, but I can't locate it. I'm interested in acquiring from iTunes some organ or other at least classical and perhaps jazz or popular music that features and demonstrates extremely low musical pitches. It's for both enjoyment as well as a bit of a test for both some headphones as well as some speakers that I have. I'm a classically-trained amateur musician from way back (bassoon), but I'm not very familiar with organ music which I think some other list-members suggested for this sort of listening. Other instruments are also fine, including brass and woodwinds. Does this bring anything to mind from anyone?
Thanks,
Dick

Re: [iPad] Béla Fleck and the Flecktones - Flight of the Cosmic Hippo (HQ AUDIO) - YouTube

Nice.  Thanks.

Sounds good even on the cheap iHome AirPlay speaker across the room.

What's HQ Audio?

I use Kik. It's an iPhone app, but it works on the iPad.
