[iPad] Re: built in apps

Pete, thanks, very good idea. But I hadn't purchased these apps, they are available to be downloaded for free when you buy an iPad Air. The difficulty many people have is to make sure Apple knows it's an Air so you don't get charged.
Carol

When you go to the App Store you can tap on purchased apps at the bottom of the page. You can then tap on "Not on this iPad" at the top of the next page to find all of your missing apps.

[iPad] Kindle

My wife's 2nd generation Kindle will not hold the WiFi signal. It goes on but after about a minute it automatically shuts off. I tried everything with Amazon to correct it, including doing a factory default reset and it is toast.

I know there are a few versions out there and I was looking at the All New Paperwhite Kindle without offers, but I was wondering if anyone in this group has a Kindle and what they use and recommend.

I have a lot of hearing loss so I use the Boom application on my Mac, works quite well to increase the volume in all apps, and has an equalizer as well.

I just bought a RickSteady XS Bluetooth speaker for my iPads, iPhone and computers. It has great sound. Lot of base but on my 11 inch MacBook Air I was missing some midrange. Fiddled around with the Equalizer in iTunes and found the best setting for my movies and TV shows. I don't do music. Set to Small Speakers came thru the best. I always boost the volume in iTunes options too. Command i and slide the speaker all the way up.

Those are some great items!

* I got the Beats Pill Portable Speaker System for my wife to use with her iPhone. Checking to see if I could hear it a section away at 2am on Friday morning was a fun test. Nobody at Kohl's even complained.
* Also bought a Wii U - Skylanders Swap Force game system bundle at Toys R Us and a number of games from Amazon sales. Still need to find a powered external hard drive for it.
* Picked up The Big Bang Theory: Season 6 DVD from Best Buy for $7.99. (Hid it behind some PC Will Maker software and came back to the store when the checkout lines had died down.)

What iDevice or computer related goodies have people been buying this weekend at sale prices?

I had been waiting/saving for a year in the hope of having enough money for the new Macbook Pro when it was released, and that all came together a month ago. Then my wife's iPad Air 2 weeks ago.

So: we both got Logitech keyboard folios for our iPads.
I got a spare Apple lightning charger cord for $9.50 or less.
For the computer, I got a USB-3 hub, and a Blu-Ray read-write drive.
Also a spare power adapter for the Mac.
And a new protective case for the iPhone 5S.

Many of these from OWC (www.macsales.com).
