It is 64 GB larger than the next smaller model.

I, for one, do not choose to spend the time and money to download multiple gigabytes of data from the cloud when I can keep it locally with zero access time.

I also do not choose to store movies that I have purchased, or photos or short videos I have created, in the cloud.

[MacBook] Re: New IMac

I bought my mac at best buy! LOVED that they have the same apple specialist in the
store most days. Apple specialists will help you determine what to get.
I use parallels on my mac book pro and it chews up the memory... wish i had more.
I can never get enough memory it seems. In more ways than one, lol!

Which is less expensive -- a 128GB iCloud account or an initial purchase
of between $800 and $950 (for the 3G model)?

128GB of storage at iCloud is expensive and it's an ongoing expense
(subscription). Buying a large storage amount and keeping your content
with you is much cheaper.

And I could use 128GB of storage easily -- my sheet-music reading app
(forScore) has 16GB of data I've loaded into it, my Kindle app has over
2GB of unread books in it, I have no music nor videos stored on my 64GB
iPad and it's full, with quite a few apps I would love to have on it but
can't due to not enough storage space.

I'll buy a 128GB (or even a 256GB iPad if one becomes available) as soon
as I can save up for it.

Re: [iPad] Copy iPad 2 content to iPad 4

Thanks bj. I was about ready to type something similar. One of sales managers needs the space for sales info that takes up much space. Heavy with data. Its easier to put it on once and be done with it. Plus he's not in an area with reliable Wi-Fi.

I've read academics use the 128 gigs heavily also.

Not everyone can or wants to depend on the cloud *all the time* for content.
It can also cost you plenty if you don't have wifi access and need to use
cell-service.

Not everyone, even if they can, wants to put (i.e. upload and pay storage
for) their personal content &/or content-not-from-iTunes (or other major
supplier with a free-cloud for their content) in the cloud, let alone have
to d/l it each time for access.

Local storage is -- always there, fast, and easy.

It's a whole lot easier and faster to "pack" your device locally than to d/l
while you're out & about (which may cost plenty) or even just staying home
(which costs only time & convenience).

Dear Group, I have an iPad 2 (64gb) and want to copy all the content to a new iPad 4 (128gb), do I some how back up the iPad 2 and then plug the 4 in and it will sync? It has been update to latest software ios. Once this is done i want to be able delete everything from the ipad 2 to possibly sell or pass on to some family. Do i just restore it to its original setting? Any help appreciated, regards Chris (Australia)
