Re: [iPad] leave iPad plugged in?

is there a way to block the recognition of the IP?  I am in Mexico and things like Netflix and Pandora will not play since I am out of the US.
Thanks,

how many things in your house draw power?
It may seem like a trivial thing, but every little bit helps, you know.

You will notice your little power supplies create a bit of heat,
which also causes the power supply to deteriorate.

[iPad] Re: leave iPad plugged in?

You generate more heat bending over to unplug it and plug it back in that IT generates being left in all the time. And actually there is a little surge that happens when you plug in the charger which is harder on the circuit than leaving it plugged in all the time.
A nightlight uses 5 to 7 watts of power which is more than the iPad uses while running. Stop using the 1000 watt microwave oven if you want to save some energy. A fraction of a watt in the charger is Not what the power companies are complaining about, it's the inductive loads of the little transformers from the cheap cordless phones and old cell Phone chargers and little power tools that are making non-unity power factor loads on the grid that waste energy. I didn't want to get technical but there, it's said!

Re: [iPad] OK to leave charger plugged in?

Hey Murray, not sure I understand what you're saying but think you're right. ;–}

Ken, the little wall wart  is essentially a transformer and as I remember it, if is the input side is energized [plugged in] regardless of whither the output side is being used, it consumes power. Maybe not much but it does consume power. Try leaving it plugged in with no load on it and after a few hours feel it and see if it's warm.  if it is warm, it's drawing power. If it's not warm, maybe still drawing power. LOL

iirc if its plugged in and at 100% when using it, it cycles between 99 and 100% or 97 and 100% and each one iirc is a cycle, i was told (and this may be outdated advice) to charge and i use it, then charge it not charge and always use it while its at 100%...

hope this makes sense. i hope even more its not wrong

Another newbie question.

Should I unplug my charger, if it's at 100%, while I'm using it? Or can I leave it plugged in most of the time?

[iPad] Re: Flash program

The Stop and Shop weekly flier wants flash also but there is an HTML option on the webpage and it ends up working faster than the flash version.

Re: [iPad] Screen protectors

I do. But I have young kids sometimes use it. And it often is with me at the horseshows where it gets sand and grit in it. It does significantly detract from the image and could not get rid of all the bubbles. But over time I stopped noticing.
