Chinese Overloaded Vehicle

A collection of snaps, mostly taken on the highways of China and published by China Photo Press, reveal drivers who load up their vehicles far beyond their limits as they go about their daily business. These pictures show ridiculously heavy trucks, bikes and tractors with goods piled up to 20 feet above their heads, leaning at unusual angles under the load.

"Highway and bridge tolls in China are too high for transportation companies," said Cui Zhongfu, secretary-general of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing. "Sometimes, they can account for as much as 20 percent of the total expense." Therefore, many companies carry too much freight to try to make trips more profitable and compete with rivals.

[MacBook] Re: iPad calendar question.

You can have the calendar sync to the cloud while leaving other things to sync to your Mac. I do not want Contacts syncing to the cloud because on the Mac I periodically have to send out messages to a group of about 150, and in order to do this, I have those members on groups in my contacts. If I sync my contacts to the cloud, I have to sync ALL of them to the iPad or phone. Syncing contacts to the Mac still gives me the option to only sync certain groups, and I try to limit the contacts on my phone and iPad to those whom I might actually call.

The point of mentioning this is to say that if your Calendar is syncing to the cloud, you do have the option to add invitees which you can do when initially entering an event, or later tap on it to edit and add them.

Re: [iPad] app update stalled

A lot of time if you tap on it so it switches to waiting and then tap it again it will start reinstalling.

The latest Bamboo Paper update seems to be permanently stalled. It says "Installing" but nothing happens though all the other updates complete just fine. I don't want to uninstall the app because all the data saved would go with it. Anyway around this problem?
