Because it's manufacture does not think that it would add enough needed benefit for its vision of the product. This is a wireless device. Maybe and I'm not them but maybe they ore fur ward thinking and in that vision they think a wireless transfer is gonna be the only way it goes at all that wired hard drives will be a funny thing that future people don't understand like a cassette backup tape and maybe Apple hopes their decision will foster their idea of the future and maybe they thought this through and they think their direction is the best one. Just maybe.
