So, why not remove all restrictions from iOS? Attach any HDD, copy files to and from, iTunes wont matter as it doesn't backup non iTines purchased files anyway. That would make any iPad like an Android, do what you wish. Like a PC or like OSX, do what you wish.

Agreed. Yea gorilla arm would be a problem. I think it's the wrong way to go. But, that said, it's possible.
