I think so. For that sort of use (termed slide over), which is similar to my Google/crossword scenario, I just slide the right portion open about 1/3 way across the screen for Google in order to maximize the screen size remaining for my crossword puzzle. You probably already know it, but you can hold your finger on a word in the Kindle app and it will present the definition. Here's an article with lots of helpful info on multi tasking: https://www.imore.com/ipad-multitasking#slide

Thanks for the explanation. I'll look into it. One use I can think of is having a book open in Kindle in one screen and a dictionary open in another. Would that be possible? My most common uses are having an instructional drawing book on one screen and Notes or other drawing app on the other to practice the exercises. Next is Google on one screen and a crossword puzzle on the other. Numbers on one screen and source data such as bank statements on the other gets occasional use.Pat
