IMHO the board decides. CEO, we want X% more sales, or X% more profit, don't really care how, we just want that
Thats what happens in reality. Tim doesn't control the business, the board does.
Is that a bad thing? For shareholders, no. For purchasers of devices, maybe. Its already mature, everyone releases a new best thing every year, which basically has 3% more chrome bumpers than last year. IMO iOS is the big thing now, get rid of these inane restrictions, then more general users will buy. They generally see Apple as better, but too locked down.

I guess I was looking at the Tim Cook angle over the politics angle.So. Tim leaves and runs for prez.Who takes over and would they be better? Is it Phil? Gash I kinda think maybe so. Tks for clarifying. I raised an OT point about the politics some time ago here, and I got ticked off big time. Being non US, I wasn't aware it was that sensitive, so yes, best to avoid.

None of them are that dumb.
Jim’s comment was to the point that, although we’ve said that almost nothing is inappropriate for discussion on this forum, I seriously think we should actively avoid American politics.
