AirPlay works awesome fir me. I can play music to any and all my various speakers and Apple tvs at once or just a few. Seemingly I can do all that airplay2 can do already which is why I'm confused as to what airplay 2 does that the OG doesn't.

Thanks. I don't care in the least about voice response, but I am hoping that the HomePod , when it's available (if you read the fine print, you'll discover that it still needs government approval), will do AirPlay better than the various speakers I've been using, which have always had a fair amount of difficulty with it at one time or another. Maybe the new version of AirPlay, whatever that amounts to, will help, too.For a very wealthy company with impressive high-tech creds, Apple seem unable to get much very right recently. Fingers crossed that this is an exception.--
