Re: [iPad] Saving Photos

Your local files may show that they have been created on download date, but I would expect the EXIF-data inside the image files to remain unchanged. (Presumed that such data have been recorded, as is very likely with digital cameras.)
My guess on the former: I think that the file date stamp is nowhere to be found inside whatever file, but that it is something created by the operating system of the "receiving" device, along with its physical location and access rights.

I have a download manager for Windows that has the option of "keeping" the original file date. I guess that this "keeping" amounts to "changing to the date kept by the server".

So, use an EXIF viewer to check the date that a picture was taken. (Either a dedicated app or maybe a feature of a more comprehensive graphics app.)

I am downloading all my photos from Photobucket to my iPad. In doing so, I am putting the photos in shared files so members of my family can view them. In the process I seem to be loosing some of the original metadata. When I use the investigator app once the photos are on my iPad, the date of the photo is the date I downloaded the photo, not the original date the photo was taken. How can I keep all the original metadata when downloading them?
