On the outside rim of the iPad is a little toggle button that turns the sound on or off. Try clicking that and see if that's what it is.

Hi. I got my iPad 2 a couple of days ago and it makes NO sounds unless I'm playing music through the iPod app or the Pandora app. No game music, no keyboard clicks, no anything. :(
I apologize if y'all have already covered this and I missed it, but does anyone have any clue how to fix this?
