Re: [iPad] ipad says its software is up-to-date at IOS 10.3.3

I queried on "ipad md5". According to <https://www.amazon.com/Apple-Retina-Display-MD511LL-Generation/dp/B009W9AEOM>, it's the first Retina iPad. I think I'd call it "iPad 3" to myself.
Then iOS 10 would indeed be the latest version for it, due to the change from 32- to 64-bit hardware. (I have an iPad 4. Same.)

I was given an iPad to use for a committee I'm on. The unit works fine, but it belonged to at least 2 other people doing the same job before I inherited it.

So I updated my personal iPads and iPhone to 12.2. When I tried to update the loaned iPad, it says IOS is up-to-date at 10.3.3. So I tried to look on line to find out what generation it is in case it is no longer supported — not a problem since many people have the same information and nothing would be lost if it died.

The model starts with MD5.

But you can't get a straight answer to a reasonable question on the internet anymore due to all the ads that Google places ahead of what you are really trying to find out. And after half an hour I gave up.

Does anyone have any idea which generation this is, and whether 10.3.3 is the best I can get on it?

Thanks.
