Send an email message from the account you want to receive the group mail to:

apple-iphone-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

After you click on the subscribe link in the email you'll receive from yahoo in return, click on the "upgrade to full member" link.  No idea what that last action signifies, but it may be necessary.
