Re: [iPad] New here and to the IPAD

I wish.  No, this is a real scratch and does not move with the orientation of the screen.  Also, if I rub my fingernail across it, I can feel it as well.

Sounds almost like the scratch on my wife's iPad. However in the free rotate mode the scratched would move as you turn the iPad.  Turned out to be a meteor in the screen saver which was a night sky.  ;-)

I have a single scratch on my screen and I have no idea how it happened. I cannot see it or feel it unless I am specifically looking for it and the only if I tip the iPad horizontally to the point where I can no longer see what is on the screen clearly.

I have not and will not put a screen protector on my iPad. I now have the iPad in a case sold by apple that folds to protect the screen while not in use. I feel like that is protection enough. The scratch occurred before I bought the case.

Carl, why is a screen protector good?  Has anybody actually seen a damaged screen & how did it happen.

Yes, a screen protector sheet is good to have ONLY if you buy it from a store like Apple or Best Buy if they install it for you. If you are thinking of putting it on yourself, just send me the money because you will waste your money. They are hard to put on with no experience. Small smart phones are hard enough, the ipad's huge screen makes it impossible without prior experience.
