[MacBook] Re: switching

Karen,
I would really suggest connecting to the Internet soon after you get the
MBP.

The suggestion of going to a library or one of the other ³Hot Spots² in your
area is a good one.
David¹s cautions are wise.

The only reason I am suggesting this is so you can register your Mac on-line
and do the software updates from Apple. (Click on the Apple in the top left
corner of the screen and choose Software update.)

Additionally, if you have wisely purchased Apple Care you will get that
registered as well.
(BTW, if you have not purchased Apple Care, it has more than paid for itself
for me.)
Check the Apple Care prices on Amazon if your interested.
It is a much better price that directly from Apple.

After you do that 1st Software update, and you don¹t have easy access to the
internet, I would just do the software update every couple of months. What
this does is load updates to the Apple Programs and your operating system.
It also fixes security holes in your software...... Which may not be a big
deal for you if your never on-line. But when you are, even occasionally, it
is wise to have them installed.

You will have fun with your new Mac!
