Go to the Multitasking display - either by double-clicking on the Home button, or swiping up with 4 fingers. Locate the app "card" you wish to close, and swipe that "card" up (you can use just the 1 finger) - this will close the app.

Downloaded ios7 to my iPad2. Nice upgrade so far. Still have to get used to it. However, I did find one thing. Doesn't seem that the apps that are opened, you cannot close. Any thoughts?
