Tap the "Settings" icon.
Then when the Settings dialog opens up, scroll down so that "General"
shows if you have an iPhone. If you have an iPad the "General" should
show up easily on the left. Tap the word "General" and in the dialog
that opens up scroll down until Passcode Lock shows up -- tap that and
you can see the options available to you, one of which is to turn it off.
