You have to use the iTunes prog as the transfer prog from computer to ipad or iphone. You can get this for Windows as well as the Mac.What I do is if a pdf is on the computer. Open itunes up and in the left hand column you will see a list starts with music movies TV shows podcasts Books Apps Radio. Get the PDF drag it over to this group and let go also for ebooks. When you sync your ipad with itunes then the book will be on the ipad.
