I'm already getting ready to barf at the coming "improvements."
If they stop offering text-mail-delivery, at least I'll save a lot of time
since I *will not* do "forums" & web-based on-line-only type [clunky! slow!
annoying!] group participation unless I really really need something. No
more personal message stores to look back through (*so* way better than the
on-line "search"). No more seredipity learning useful answers to questions I
hadn't thought of & tips about features I hadn't looked for. Harder to find
answers already given, so I get to annoy people by asking again -- and to be
told "search the archives! which ain't that easy in case you hadn't noticed.
No more casual browsing & conversation. Less of a time-sink.
OTOH maybe not such a bad thing!
I'm definitely the wrong demographic. I don't live in FB; I despise
web-based forums; I prefer the speed & ease of text over the glitz &
pokiness of snazzed up on-line cocktail parties that make it hard to find
out what you came to find out, that seem to be of the "style rather than
substance is the important thing here...."
Oh well. My Library with its groaning shelves is still waiting patiently.
