I'm using Windows XP.
When I hook up my iPad, XP "sees" it as a camera & offers to fire up the
camera wizard to transfer photos from the device to the computer. If you
have a sync cable with you & a friendly PC you can use, maybe you can
transfer the photos to the PC & then copy to a flash drive (then remove from
the PC).
My computer just sees the "saved photos" album when I look at it in 'my
computer' & select the iPad device. I don't know where photos go when you
use the camera connector.
Videos do take up a *lot* of space! If it's podcasts, you can probably
re-d/l them when you get home if you really want to. I don't make my own
videos so I don't know if camera-wizard would transfer them like photos.
